SVKM’s Mithibai College’s International Intercollegiate Cultural festival, Kshitij: An
Everlasting Flame ended Day 3 with a gust of grandeur going around in the air, as King himself
brought down the roof with his electrifying performance and left no hearts unconquered.
Fans from all over Mumbai could not contain their excitement as they lined up in long queues
outside the grand venue that is JVPD Grounds, Juhu. With eagerness and euphoria
encompassing every onlooker who could not wait to get a glimpse of the King himself, Mithibai
Kshitij was most certainly the place to be on the night of the 8th of January, 2023. Spellbinding
stage lights, smoke and confetti cannons, and a powerhouse of a performance by the conquering
King added to the spectacular setting. The manifestation for a truly thrilling night that had
indeed turned into a reality could be felt around all in the air, as adrenaline and emotions could
not seem to stop flowing through the audience’s bodies until the very end.
Once this dreamy and treasured artist took to the stage, thousands of people roaring his name
and singing the lyrics to his every song at the top of their voices was a bewitching sight to
behold. To say that the atmosphere at the grounds was indeed electrifying would be an
understatement. From global chartbusters such as Maan Meri Jaan and Tu Aake Dekhle to
Oops and Sinner, people let the music take over them completely as they danced their hearts
out for this gem of an artist.
The audience’s larger-than-life response to every beat and rhythm of King’s songs was a
compelling sign that music is truly what unites people. As the King himself said at Mithibai
Kshitij, “Music is the only remaining magic that’s left in this world that’s capable of bringing
everyone together on an unimaginable scale.” The supremely talented performer more than
managed to give everyone a night that they will reminisce about forever.
Mithibai Kshitij’s concerts are a lasting testament to the fact that if the perfect ending to one’s
day does exist, this is truly it. And with this last one, Kshitij has once again set the bar higher
than ever for collegiate festivals everywhere across this country.
